Eastern Circuit

Eastern Circuit

The Eastern Circuit – Zone is the smallest of all the zones of Tanzania sanctuaries but it has its own attraction to offer. The eastern part of Tanzania contains miles-long of a shoreline from the Indian Ocean and to a big extent it is a reservation where the National Park meets the ocean. The Eastern Circuit Safari Route is to some extent isolated and its remote routes are visited by only a few valiant travellers each year. Far from it being situated in a remote location, there are plenty of opportunities to take as advantage from this zone.

The Eastern Circuit – Zone consist the Sadaani National Park, Mikuni Mational Park, Udzungwa Mountain National Park and Nyerere national Park. The Saadan National Park is often referred to as the destination where bush meets the beach; it is the only national park in Tanzania bordering the sea. It is also among the newest national parks established only in 2005. Some of the wildlife you’d be able to spot in Sadaani includes waterbucks, wildebeests, hartebeests, buffalos, and reedbucks. For more information about this zone click visit this Tanzania National Park Page www.tanapa.or.tz – the Government page.

Fronting the Indian Ocean, Saadani is the only Tanzanian park to blend bush and beach in an unforgettable celebration of land and sea. Saadani Safari Lodge and Tent with a an amazing view allow tourists to enjoy a barefoot Tanzanian beach holiday, lounging on sun-warmed silver sands, exploring ancient ruins, snorkeling off sandbanks, dining on luscious fresh seafood and venturing upriver by canoe or boat to watch forest birds and riverside mammals. GVTS will offer travellers fantastic game drives, bird watching safaris and unique boat tours to mangrove swamps. Our tour guide will as well take you to visit Saadani fishing village remembered as a famous center for ivory and slaves.

Coastal tourist towns and centers such as Dar Es Salaam, Bagayomo, Pangani are all located in the eastern circuit. Dar Es Salaam, the former capital of the country, is currently the largest city and economic capital of Tanzania. It has all the modern facilities almost on part of a western beach town. From this location, the Zanzibar Archipelago is easily reachable. Find the best Eastern Circuit Safari Packages with GVTS and get the real safari at various national parks.

Upon visiting the highland edge of Saadani, you will experience a different perspective on African travel: holistic wilderness living in the lush Zaraninge tropical forest where you can lose yourself in the primeval atmosphere whilst interacting with local people to appreciate their cultural identity, history and value systems. Combine your Eastern circuit visit to see the UNESCO World Heritage Site ruins of historical Kilwa Kisiwani and Songo Mnara, the ancient island hub of trade between Arabia, Asia and East Africa.

The benefit of the Eastern Circuit – Zone is that it offers visitors a unique experience of beach meeting the bush – a chance to see the wildlife and scenery, the country has to offer unlike the Northern parks.
